Don’t be fooled by the price – Here’s why you shouldn’t choose this VPN offer

When it comes to investing in reliable security software, a better quality VPN should always come at a bargain price.

For example, FastestVPN’s new VPN deal looks like a very tempting offer – at least on paper. In celebration of its 6th anniversary, new subscribers can decide how much to pay. With a price range from $15 to $25 and $18 to $40 for a 3 or 5 year subscription respectively, users can save up to 93% of the total price (opens in new tab).

Plus, FastestVPN is also releasing 2TB of Internxt cloud storage and PassHulk password manager as an extra freebie — and for some, that deal might be worth it for that alone.

However, after mediocre performance during our tests, we would not place FastestVPN among our top VPN recommendations. And afterwards, we don’t suggest that everyone take advantage of this deal – despite the unbelievable price.

Read on why we think this FastestVPN offer isn’t as good as it sounds, and below we’ve detailed some better offers that might be worth checking out.

Is FastestVPN worth it?

While this is probably the cheapest VPN deal we’ve seen, our testing has shown that FastestVPN lacks some key features that its top-ranked competitors have had for quite some time.

First of all, if a good streaming VPN is what you’re after, FastestVPN is likely to disappoint. We were unable to circumvent geo-restrictions on any streaming platform last time we checked.

The fact that it doesn’t support the WireGuard protocol – now a standard among major security software – is probably the main reason behind its poor performance when it comes to connection speeds. Despite the name, the provider’s average connection speeds are well below the fastest VPN services on the market.

We also encountered some issues when using your apps. This is likely because it has been a while since the provider has implemented updates. In addition, an unimpressive support system and numerous technical issues make it even harder to recommend.

However, it’s worth noting again that this is an incredibly cheap way to bundle 2TB of cloud storage and a password manager – and for just $18 for five yearsIt’s an offer hard to refuse.
