LG is eyeing an early 2023 launch for a 27-inch OLED display.
Sources recently told the Korean newspaper Hankooki (opens in new tab) that LG Display, the panel-making sister company of LG Electronics, expects to start producing 27-inch and 32-inch OLED panels by the end of 2022, with the former set to be ready in November.
LG is therefore anticipating being able to use these 27-inch panels in a new mid-sized display slated for release in Q1 2023. The smallest LG OLED display currently available is the 27-inch LG UltraFine Display OLED Pro, although this is equipped with Japan’s JOLED panels instead of LG Display.
At the moment, the smallest bearing panels of LG products produced by LG Display are the LG C2 OLED TV, which is 42 inches.
LG Display’s upcoming 32-inch OLED panels are expected to launch shortly after its 27-inch panels early next year, while production of its 42-inch OLED panels – the type used in the LG C2 – is also expected to increase. in the next few months.
