In 2020, Chinese phone maker Oppo started a 5G innovation lab in India that offers expertise for smartphone camera research. Late last year, Oppo launched its Genius+ program, which offers scholarships to outstanding students taking engineering courses at top institutes.
Now as part of that Genius+ program, Oppo India’s coding hackathon. Called Oppo Inspiration Cup, the hackathon is designed to provide a platform for engineering students across India to showcase their coding skills.
The different stages of the competition will take place over 8 weeks, and Oppo collaborated with Hacker Earth, a leading hackathon platform, to organize this coding challenge.

Oppo Coding Hackathon – All the Details
Participants in this program will be tested for innovation and problem-solving skills and winning members will have the chance to intern at Oppo India R&D and also win prizes.
The Oppo Inspiration Cup Hackathon will consist of three rounds overall. The first round of challenges will include a timed coding challenge that will recognize 100 eligible individuals to advance in the competition, the company said in a statement.
First round winners will be announced on October 12, 2022. Winners will have access to a microsite that will take them to the next challenge starting October 15, 2022. Round two will have a similar, albeit more challenging, format. Winners will be announced on October 19.

Oppo, for the record, is also running the Elevate Program to foster creativity in the startup ecosystem in India. Oppo is working with tech startups in India through the government’s Invest India program and is targeting companies working with cameras and batteries.
Oppo is also collaborating with IIT Hyderabad to promote joint research and development for various projects over two years to develop new technologies in specific areas for camera and image processing, battery, networks (5G), system performance and Artificial Intelligence. .
