Xiaomi has withdrawn the latest Redmi phones from the Redmi 11 smartphone series in India, Redmi 11 Prime 5G and Redmi 11 Prime 5G. The 5G model of the Redmi 11 Prime starts at Rs. 13,999, and the 4G model starts at Rs. 12,999.
Both phones come with different designs on the back, but they have similar features and components, except for the SoC. One has a 5G chipset, Mediatek Dimensity 700, while the other has the latest Mediatek Helio G99 SoC.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G: Key features and specifications
The Redmi 11 Prime 5G is the phone to get from the Redmi 11 Prime twins if you want 5G on your phone and need your 5G smartphone ready when the 5G service starts. It comes with the Mediatek Dimensity 700 SoC, the lowest 5G chipset in the Mediatek Dimensity chipset series. It’s powerful enough, but not as powerful as the Redmi 11 Prime 4G’s Mediatek Helio G99.
It comes with a design language that is most commonly found on Realme phones, but it looks good here. There’s a 6.58-inch FHD+ LCD on the front with a 90Hz refresh rate. But this time, there’s a waterdrop notch instead of a hole that every other phone used last year. This monitor supports Xiaomi’s AdaptiveSync technology which automatically adjusts the refresh rate according to the displayed content.
There is a 50MP main camera and a secondary 2MP macro camera. On the front, there is an 8MP snapper for selfies.
The phone is backed by a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging, although a 22.5W charger comes in the box.
Redmi 11 Prime 4G: Key features and specifications
The Redmi 11 Prime 4G is priced lower than the 5G variant but comes with a more powerful chipset than the 5G variant, the Mediatek Helio G99 SoC. It is a newer chipset from Mediatek and is now one of the most powerful chipsets in the segment. It also uses the latest 6nm manufacturing process.
Other features of the phone remain the same as the 5G variant, except for the back panel design. The Redmi 11 Prime 4G looks totally different from the 5G variant. The 5G variant objectively looks better, in my opinion.
The 4G variants carry the same camera, battery and charging setup as the Redmi 11 Prime 5G.
The 2022 phones are disappointing; phones released in 2021 look like a better deal compared to most phones from the year before.
For example, if you want a 5G phone from Redmi, you can get the Redmi Note 10T 5G released the year before and it is priced the same at Rs. 13,999 like the Redmi 11 Prime 5G.
With the Redmi Note 10T 5G you are essentially getting a better looking phone as it comes with a perforated screen. This phone usually sells for a reduced price of Rs. 11,999 and Rs. 10,999 in Amazon sales.
The same goes for the Redmi 11 Prime 4G if you look at the Redmi Note 10S. It is usually sold for Rs. 12,999 in sales but now costs Rs. 13,999 If you compare the Redmi 11 Prime 4G to the Redmi Note 10S, it’s evident that you’re actually getting a lower value than this phone. The Redmi Note 10S comes with an AMOLED display with a perforated display and has a 64MP quad camera with an ultra wide camera. And there’s support for 33W fast charging. All this makes the newer phone a lackluster launch compared to the older phone of the same brand.
